The "Sustainability Leadership Award" will be conferred by World Sustainability* on Mariette Liefferink, the CEO of the Federation for a Sustainable Environment on the 11th October 2017 in Dubai.


The Award will consist of a Citation. The aim of the Awards is to recognize the Best of the Best Sustainable Leaders.

World Sustainability is a Not-For-Profit Organization advocating for Sustainable Leadership. World Sustainability attempts to bring Organizations, NGO's, Public Interests Groups & Governmental Bodies to accelerate & educate on sustainable business practices and solutions for a better tomorrow.
Dubai is the host country for the “World Sustainability Congress” (www.worldsustainabilitycongress.org) scheduled on 11th – 12th October, 2017. The 2016 edition was stupendous success with 240 Leaders in attendance from 73
countries. The UAE Economy is one of the most sustainable economies with modernity and a vision for the future. The theme for the World Sustainability Congress is “PURPOSEFUL PURPOSE”.

FSE - DONATION OF TREES AND TREE PLANTING IN SIMUNYE, WEST RAND IN ASSOCIATION WITH SOUTH DEEP MINE

The FSE, in association with Gold Fields’ South Deep Mine, donated 40 white Karee Trees (Searsia penduline) during Arbor Week to the mining affected community of Simunye in the West Rand and participated in the tree planting ceremony with the community of Simunye, the local Municipality and officials from South Deep Mine.  The FSE also delivered a presentation during the ceremony.

Radon Alert - Carte Blanche

Millions of South Africans are exposed to radioactive radon gas in their homes and workplaces every day, as the naturally occurring gas escapes through cracks in the earth. The second leading cause of lung cancer in several countries, radon breaks down and when inhaled, decaying atoms emit alpha radiation that can damage the DNA. There are no safe levels of radon concentration. The United States Environmental Protection Agency emphasises any radon exposure has some risk of causing lung cancer.
